Connecting Your Metamask Wallet to ZKcandy Public Testnet

Today, we’ll guide you through the process of setting up and connecting your Metamask wallet with testnet. Whether you’re a developer, tester, or just curious about the potential of ZKcandy, this tutorial has you covered.

Step 1: Launch Metamask

First things first, you need to open your Metamask browser extension wallet. If you haven’t installed Metamask yet, you can easily add it to your browser from the official Metamask website. Metamask is an essential tool for interacting with Ethereum-based applications, and it’s the gateway to the ZKcandy Testnet.

Step 2: Add the ZKcandy Public Testnet

Once Metamask is up and running, you’ll need to add the ZKcandy Public Testnet. In the Metamask interface, click on the network selection dropdown at the top of the wallet. It typically shows the Ethereum Mainnet by default. From the dropdown menu, select ‘Add Network’ to add a new network, and on the next screen choose “add network manually”

Step 3: Enter Network Details

You’ll now see a form titled ‘Custom RPC’ settings. Enter the following details into the respective fields:

Network Name: zkCandy Sepolia Testnet
New RPC URL: https://sepolia.rpc.zkcandy.io/
Chain ID: 302
Currency Symbol (optional): ETH
Block Explorer URL (optional): https://sepolia.explorer.zkcandy.io/

Alternatively, you can use Chainlist to add the network https://chainlist.org/chain/302

Step 4: Save and Select the ZKcandy Public Testnet

After entering the details, click ‘Save’. The ZKcandy Public Testnet should now be added to your list of available networks. Go back to the network selection dropdown and select the ZKcandy Public Testnet.

Metamask might display an error indicating that the RPC is reporting a different native token symbol (ETH) from the one you entered (SepETH). This is normal. On the ZKcandy Public Testnet, Test Ether is referred to as SepETH to differentiate it from real Ether.

Step 5: Obtain Test Ether

If you are a participant in the ZKcandy OG Voyage campaign on Micro3, you may receive an airdrop of Test Ether.

Once connected to the ZKcandy Public Testnet, you’ll need Test Ether (SepETH) in order to transact from your Externally Owned Account (EOA).

Alternatively, you can acquire SepETH from public faucets on the Ethereum Sepolia Testnet or Use our official bridge at https://sepolia.bridge.zkcandy.io/bridge/ to transfer SepETH to the ZKcandy Sepolia Testnet.

Bridging is the process of transferring assets from one blockchain to another. Refer to the Ethereum Public Testnet’s documentation on how to obtain and bridge Test Ether.
